Once upon a time..... In 1912, the Hunt family took over the tenancy of Blackmarsh Farm which is part of The Digby Estate. Since then, the Hunt family have continued to grow the Dairy Farm business through several wars and turbulent times for the farming industry. In 2003, and with a young family in tow, the Hunts diversified into the world of retail, selling toys and outdoor climbing frames. The Toy Barn provided purpose for unused farm buildings and over time the land surrounding the barns expanded to include outdoor frames, a go-kart track and an annual Maize Maze, proving to be a popular destination for local families with young children. Still a working farm and supplying milk to major supermarkets, once again the Hunts are diversifying the business. Lock-down saw the creation of Blackmarsh Kitchen Garden, a No-Dig kitchen garden growing a variety of fresh vegetables to sell and use in the new Blackmarsh Farm Café. The buildings have now undergone a transformation, as has the business, to help create a bigger and better destination for young families. Blackmarsh Farm has a new retail space offering gifts, homewares and local produce. The Toy Barn will sell an improved selection of both indoor and outdoor toys and games. We have also built a Blackmarsh Farm Café which sells fresh and local produce with all year round events for little, wild adventurers. Our story began in 1912, but 2022 will see a new chapter begin, celebrating nature, the outdoors, muddy boots and growing wild.
